Privacy notice

Last updated: 11 October 2026. Questin is operated by HONEY & CORALS LIMITED ("we", "us"), company number SC852932, registered in Scotland. We are the data controller for the personal information described here.

What we collect

• Account details: name, email or Apple sign-in identifier, date-of-birth or 18+ confirmation, profile photo, bio.
• Content you create: Quests, listings, photos, messages, reviews, reports.
• Location: your device location while the app is open, to show nearby Quests and items. Posted locations are rounded and slightly randomised so only a rough area is shown to others.
• Payments: handled by Stripe. We receive payment status and the last digits of a card, never full card numbers. Stripe may verify your identity for payouts.
• Technical data: device type, app version, crash logs and security logs.

Why we use it (legal bases)

• To provide the service you asked for (contract).
• To keep people safe, prevent fraud and handle reports (legitimate interests, legal obligations).
• To send service notifications such as offers and messages (contract; you can turn them off in Settings).
• To meet legal duties such as tax and accounting records.

Who we share it with

• Other users, only what you choose to show (name, photo, rough area, ratings).
• Service providers acting for us: hosting and database (Supabase), payments and identity checks (Stripe), push notifications (Apple), place-name lookup (postcodes.io receives rounded coordinates), map tiles.
• Authorities where the law requires, or to protect safety.

How long we keep it

While your account is active, then deleted or anonymised within 30 days of deletion, except records we must keep by law (for example payment records for 6 years) and safety records needed to prevent repeat harm.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, object to or restrict some uses, and complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). Email support@questin.co.uk.

Children

Questin is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from under-18s.
